A World Too Loud
A gentle game about a world that's a bit too loud.
Coming soon to Steam, starting in Early Access.
- Platforms: Windows (Steam)
- Developer and publisher: Low Noise Studio Limited

About the game
Flint notices everything. Help him through school days, free days and a whole year, and find what helps when it's all too much.
Flint is nine, and his senses take everything in at once: the fridge humming two rooms away, the rain in the gutter, the hand dryer that roars by itself. You help him notice when it's getting too much, and find what helps.
Live a whole year at home, in the garden, at school and beyond. Grow things and plan the garden your way, go metal detecting, find minibeasts, make things with Mum, plan a free day your own way, and calm big feelings that are befriended, never beaten. And look twice: there are little secrets everywhere, from a robot car one wheel short to a lost cat called Toast.
Senses you can see
Sound, light, crowd, touch and smell fill up as the day goes on, and the world shows it.
Feelings, befriended
Worry, Glare and friends are calmed with coping moves, never defeated.
A whole year to live in
Home, a garden that grows, school, the park and beyond, through the seasons, with quiet music made for each place.
Play your way
Bigger text, a reading font, a narrator, reduced motion and full controller support.
Use of AI tools
The narrator is an accessibility option for players who find reading hard. It's off by default; you can turn it on when you start a game or in Settings. Its voice is a text-to-speech model reading our own script, recorded during development. The music is written by us as code with help from an AI coding assistant, with every sound synthesised and nothing sampled. Some art started from AI-assisted concept images and was reworked by us, and some story text was drafted with an AI writing assistant and edited by us. Nothing is generated by AI while you play, and the trailer uses no AI voice.
The trailer
See it for yourself
Pressing play loads YouTube's privacy-enhanced player, with captions on. Nothing from YouTube loads before then. You'll hear calm music and a few of the game's own sounds (a school bell, a chair, a hand dryer), all kept gentle. No voices.
Read what happens in the trailer
- 0:00The school gate in the morning, children going in. His senses card sits at the top of the screen. The bell rings ("BRRRING!") and his card turns to Shutdown.
- 0:02The lunch hall: long tables of children, and his face scrunched up, hands over his ears.
- 0:04Headphones on, and the hall goes quieter. Words: "Every sound. Every light."
- 0:06On dark blue: "Low Noise Studio presents".
- 0:08The new-game screen: his name is typed in as Flint, and his hoodie and hair colours are picked. Words: "Make him yours."
- 0:11His bedroom at dawn, with black bars like a film. Thunder wakes him: "Thunder. Right over the house."
- 0:14The kitchen. Mum: "Morning, love. Toast's on. Triangles, not rectangles. I know."
- 0:16A maths lesson: a chair scrapes ("SCRRRAPE") while he puts number cards in order.
- 0:18"Too bright: the lesson": he follows the teacher's voice through a glare of bright lights, with Glare, a light-bulb feeling, watching.
- 0:19He walks down the school hallway past the coat pegs.
- 0:21The school toilets. The hand dryer is a boss called the Blast-o-Matic 3000, on Setting: 10. Words: "Some days turn right up." It roars, and he dodges the hot air.
- 0:25Mum's helpful-things shop on her laptop: a chewy necklace and foam earplugs. Words: "Find what helps."
- 0:28He names the robot vacuum: "Hello, Captain Crumb."
- 0:29Metal detecting in the garden at Halloween: a muddy key comes up out of the ground.
- 0:31His bedroom: a new Shelf Pal figure for the shelf on his wall.
- 0:33His robot car whirrs across his bedroom floor.
- 0:35The garden: a ginger cat with white socks, Toast, from the poster at the park.
- 0:36A science lesson: he builds a circuit and the bulb lights up. "It works!"
- 0:38Snow in the garden.
- 0:39Flying a friend's drone through hoops in the garden.
- 0:41A meltdown, shown as a storm at sea that he steers through until it calms: "It passed. It always does."
- 0:43His quiet den under fairy lights. Words: "It's okay to take time."
- 0:46A card game with Worry, a feeling. Worry lets out a long, slow breath, just like Flint did.
- 0:49A painting of the feelings in a row, calm now. Words: "Feelings to befriend, not beat."
- 0:52The title, A World Too Loud, over a calm sound wave.
- 0:55The end card: the key art of him in his headphones, "Every sound. Every light. Every crowd.", "Coming soon to Steam" and the Low Noise Studio logo.
